Bristol Thriving Communities is a collaborative project between the Good Faith Partnership and Christian Action Bristol. This report builds upon the Bristol Churches Covid Recovery Report, published by Good Faith Partnership in 2022, which identified an increased appetite of churches to collectively address city-wide issues following the pandemic.
In an age of fragmentation and shifting values, virtues can guide us back to a place of understanding and cooperation. But in the UK’s hyper-diverse society, how do we have meaningful conversations across faith groups and sectors? A virtue may be shared among Christians and Muslims, but does it mean the same thing to both groups? And why does it matter?
The Sacred Sites Promoting Pluralism initiative is part of Pepperdine University’s Programme on Global Faith and Inclusive Societies, and has been researching how to leverage the power of sacred sites to overcome interfaith hostility and promote the value of pluralism, the peaceful coexistence of people of different perspectives (including religious beliefs).
One of the key features of strong communities is the ability to welcome newcomers. But despite the increased focus in recent years on devolution and local deals offering more powers, this aspect of welcoming newcomers is one that is rarely discussed in relation to the role of Mayors. Our new project aims to change that, with a particular focus on those seeking sanctuary in the UK.
Surveying over 3,000 members of various UK’s faith communities and those who are non-religious, the Good Faith Partnership in collaboration with the University of Birmingham’s Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues conducted a study to find out the commonality and differences amongst different faith and non-faith groups in the UK.
The ChurchWorks Commission brings together 15 major UK Christian denominations to build the collective impact of the church in the public square to work well with the government and other partners to address some of the major challenges facing our country. Good Faith Partnership is delighted to support the Commission by acting as the group’s secretariat.
The Refugee, Asylum and Migration Policy (RAMP) Project was established by Good Faith in 2017. RAMP helps political leaders to think more deeply and collaborate more widely on migration, asylum and integration issues to improve the quality and quantity of political debate and subsequent policy outcomes.
GFP has provided ongoing strategic advice, support, and due diligence to Al Qurm Consultancy as they work to help establish the programming of the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.
The Good Faith Partnership supported the Patriarch of Jerusalem, and the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem and facilitated the process honouring the traditions and spiritual underpinnings of the coronation ceremony.
The UK Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) Forum brings together civil society groups, faith or belief organisations, and human rights NGOs to advance the cause of freedom of religion or belief around the world.
